Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Seattle, the company develops AI-powered transportation management software for railroads, rail shippers, transloaders, intermodal facilities, and industrial parks - a sector that has historically been underserved by modern technology. Its platform gives rail operators real-time accuracy, transparency, and auditability across their freight operations, replacing the manual processes and fragmented systems that have defined the industry for decades. Cedar's tools cover everything from yard switching and railcar inventory management to billing, storage planning, and event tracking through existing yard cameras.

Nexa Equity, a San Francisco-based private equity firm that partners with high-growth vertical SaaS companies, led the investment. Nexa's model - concentrated investing combined with hands-on operational support - is well-suited to companies like Cedar AI that are defining a new category in a large, entrenched market.
